Who we are
Table Perch is run by a small editorial team that cares about one thing: making hosting feel calm. We write about cheese boards, charcuterie, serving bowls, tongs, napkin holders and the small pieces that turn a plain table into a welcoming one.
We are not chefs and we are not a kitchen store. We are researchers and writers who got tired of buying the wrong board twice. So we built the site we wished we had found.
Why we started
It started with a holiday. Guests in the hallway, gravy going cold, and a serving spoon that was nowhere to be found. The board on the table was a cutting board with a knife scar down the middle. Everyone was kind about it. We still remember it.
Afterward we went looking for a straight answer to a simple question: what size board feeds ten people? The answers were scattered, salesy, or buried under stock photos. That gap became Table Perch.
Today the site covers three things. Choosing the right pieces. Setting them out so they look right. Keeping them in good shape for years.
What we cover
- Reviews and buying guides: boards, platters, bowls, serving tools and table accessories, ranked for real hosting.
- Table setting and food presentation: where things go, and how to make a board look full.
- Serveware care basics: oiling wood, cleaning slate and marble, rescuing cloudy glass.
- DIY serveware projects: weekend builds with food safety notes.
How we research
We want to be clear about this, because it matters. We do not test products in a kitchen or a lab, and we do not claim personal use of the items we cover.
Every recommendation is built from research. We read manufacturer specifications and care sheets. We read published documentation and safety guidance on materials. We read hundreds of verified owner reviews and look for patterns: what breaks, what stains, what people reach for every week.
Then we compare the options side by side and write down what we found, including one honest drawback for every product. If owners disagree about something, we say so rather than picking a side.
Our honesty rule
If a page on this site ever sounds like we handled the product ourselves, that is a mistake and we would like to fix it. Tell us at hello@tableperch.com.
How we make money
Table Perch is supported by affiliate links, mainly through the Amazon Associates program. When you buy through one of our links we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes which products we recommend or where they rank. Our full Affiliate Disclosure explains the details.
